Kids love animals and especially horses, and is it any wonder, as they are such majestic creatures.  Getting your kids involved in the world of horses is expensive, but it doesn't have to be with the Adopt A Pony Program.


The Adopt-A-Pony program is the perfect opportunity for you and your kids to experience what it would be like to own a pony through our unique pony lease arrangement.

We are thrilled to offer the best ponies for rides in the area. Our ponies are well-trained and gentle, ensuring a safe and enjoyable time for everyone. Whether you're a beginner or experienced with horses, we have the perfect pony for you and your family.


The Adopt A Pony program is a pony leasing  arrangement that affords families a fun and exciting way to spend quality time together, strengthening family bonds while being outside with ponies. It also gives young equestrians a more affordable option to learn, develop and practice their riding skills on a weekly basis.


With the Adopt A Pony program you avoid that large financial outlay of buying a pony and the equipment ... not to mention the weekly time commitment in caring for the pony.


Many children and adults find being around ponies calming and very therapeutic, in fact we have had several families utilising their NDIS funding this way.  Two of our mini ponies work as Animal Assisted Therapy ponies, read some more about this.

About Adopt A Pony

We  have 21 perfect kids ponies (and now 2 horses) of varying breeds and sizes to suit children from ages 3 - 11, plus we now have available 2 horses for the capable teens.  


All of our horses and ponies are experienced and calm around children, most of them having been party ponies for kids parties.


Beautiful trails are available for you to enjoy as you lead your child out on a relaxing ride.  Relax in the garden as the kids play in the playground after their ride, they can play in the cubby house, bounce on the safe Springfree trampoline, chat to the cats, dogs and chooks who are all super friendly ... the kids won't want to go home.  


Access to the  professional equestrian facilities – horse wash, indoor/outdoor tie up  areas, dressage arena, round yard, show jumps and trail riding with  cross country logs for jumping.


The Best Thing About Pony Leasing is:

  1. No hunting high and low to purchase a genuinely quiet, safe and reliable children's pony (budget $4000 - $10,000)
  2. Don’t worry about finding a place to keep the pony (agistment), they will stay with us in Doreen.
  3. No need to purchase any of the necessary equipment (tack) needed to own a pony because we have it.
  4. You  don’t even have the responsibility of veterinary care or day to day  maintenance – feeding, rugging etc, we do that every day.

Is the Adopt A Pony Program Affordable?

It sure is!  The Adopt A Pony lease fee is paid monthly and is surprisingly affordable!  Less than the cost of most horse agistment in Melbourne.

COST COMPARISON OF OTHER HORSE RIDING OPTIONS

  • Agistment starts at $45 - $70 per week for basic / shared paddocks, up to $140+ p/w for your own horse.
  • The cost of kid’s riding lessons from a riding school is anywhere from $75 – $120 per lesson.
  • A 2 hour trail ride will set you back $140 - $260 per person.


And you don't get that same personal interaction with the pony like when you own or lease one - you're in that special situation where you can spend the time and develop a beautiful bond with your animal.
